Day 13: Tidal Wave

Today I had to write a play that does not use emotion. I also had to write it after being out all day/night at a sludge metal festival. It's a thin gruel of theatre today! I still wrote it though.

                                                                         Tidal Wave
                                                                  By Jeremy Linnell
Two doors face the audience, as far away as they can be from each other while still being visible. The stand face on. Although not labelled they are, for all intents and purposes, A and B. A stands stage left.
A man sits on stage eating a burger. He finishes, throws his wrapper on to a pile of similar wrappers and walks out door B.
As he exits a man, identical, enters from door A. He sits. Pulls a burger from a pile sitting on the table. He unwraps it. It starts to scream. He takes a big bite and the screaming stops. He eats contentedly.
When he finishes he exits through door B and another, identical man enters through door A.
The cycle continues.
Slowly as it does the sound of a wave builds.
It crashes over the stage.
Silence.

Darkness.
